Cookie Policy

COOKIES

This policy explains the cookies we use on rotheestate.com, what they do, and how you control them.

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the site and checkout to work. They do not need your consent and cannot be switched off.

cart — keeps the items in your basket and validates checkout. Set by Shopify. Lasts 2 weeks.
_secure_session_id — protects your checkout session. Set by Shopify. Lasts for the session.
secure_customer_sig — keeps you signed in if you have an account. Set by Shopify. Lasts 1 year.
_tracking_consent — records the cookie choice you made, so we do not have to ask again. Set by Shopify. Lasts 1 year.

2. Preference cookies

localization — remembers your country and language so the store shows the right version. Set by Shopify. Lasts 1 year.

3. Analytics cookies

These help us understand how the store is used. We only set them if you consent.

_shopify_y — distinguishes one visitor from another for usage statistics. Set by Shopify. Lasts 1 year.
_shopify_s — measures a single visit for usage statistics. Set by Shopify. Lasts 30 minutes.

4. Advertising cookies

We advertise on Google. To measure whether our Google ads lead to purchases, we use Google Ads conversion tracking, set up through the Google & YouTube app for Shopify. We only set these cookies if you consent to marketing cookies; if you decline, Google receives no advertising cookies from us.

_gcl_au — lets Google Ads link a visit to a later purchase, so we can see which ads work. Set by Google. Lasts 90 days.
_gcl_aw — stores the ad click that brought you to the site, for the same purpose. Set by Google. Lasts 90 days.

We do not use Meta, TikTok or other advertising pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy before those cookies are set, and we will ask for your consent first.

5. Your choices

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you agree to them. When you first visit, you are asked to choose, and declining is exactly as easy as accepting. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies for this site, which resets the question.

Blocking analytics or advertising cookies does not affect your ability to browse or buy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies through your browser will stop the basket and checkout from working.

6. Changes

If we add or remove a cookie, or install any new tool that sets one, we will update this policy.
